Missaukee Conservation District’s Annual Seedling Sale
Orders taken through April 13, 2017.

Seedling Pick-Up Day: April 29, 2017, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
NEW Location: Baker College, Lake City Campus
Seedlings, Free Classes, Donuts and Coffee!

Some of the programs we’ll be offering during our Pick-up Event:

  • 9:30 a.m. Pruning Saplings for Form and Timber
    Larry Czelusta, Outreach Forester
  • 10:30 a.m. Food Plots
    Jeff Fewless, CTAI Technician
  • 11:30 Native Alternatives for Invasives in the Landscape
    Vicki Sawicki, Invasive Species Coordinator
  • 12:30 p.m. Pruning Saplings for Form and Timber (repeated class)
    Larry Czelusta, Outreach Forester
  • Crafting Nature Art (2 separate projects – stay for both sessions!):
    • 1:30: Celebrate spring and the coming summer by  painting a fun whimsical daisy and bumblebee  on a canvas of your choice to display in your home all summer long. Total Cost is $18.00 and includes everything! Everyone can do this easy and fun project!! Offered by Sandy Wiltzer, “Brushed Blessings”
    • 2:30: Ahh, the perfect container for your beautiful spring blooms, a simple clay pot painted with colorful flowers of your choice and then proudly displayed in your home all summer long. Total Cost is $15 and includes everything! Everyone can do this easy and fun project!! Offered by Sandy Wiltzer, “Brushed Blessings
  • ALL DAY:
    • Water testing (nitrates and nitrates)
    • Staff and volunteers to answer your wildlife, forestry and horticultural questions

Our goal is to provide low cost seedlings for reforestation, wildlife habitat restoration & landscaping.  Plants offered are native and thrive in our region, when planted in the appropriate site.
